Goals
Armstrongs live all over the United States, but All American Armstrongs of Scotch-Irish origin are said to be descendants of Johnnie Armstrong of Gilnockie. [1]
Task List
- Develop the Armstrong profiles and make them worthy of our ancestors.
- Determine if any of the unconnected Armstrongs are connected
- Adopt any of the Armstrong Orphaned Profiles that are connected to this family.
Sticker
While working on your Armstrong profiles, please use this sticker.{{One Name Study|name=Armstrong|category=Armstrong Name Study}} It displays like this:
If you wish, you can use this state-specific sticker instead. Just replace "Alabama" with whichever state your Armstrong was born in. {{One Name Study|name=Armstrong|category=Alabama, Armstrong Name Study}} It displays the same, but adds the the state category to the profile.

I'd like to help with the Armstrong name study.
Thanks Brian
My Armstrong trail currently ends in Bewcastle in the 1660s. Over the next few generations, they followed Hadrian's wall to Haltwhistle Northumberland and then my particular branch emigrated to Australia in 1857. I have a mission to trace them back as far as I can and in doing so have accumulated a lot of information. So far, I can find none that went to America though. So would you be interested in what I have to share?
Kind regards Kim
I am researching the ancestors for Col. Martin R. Armstrong, Jr. to figure out if he was born in PA, VA or Ireland. I would like to join the Armstrong Name Study to share information. Thanks! Suzy (Summers) Valentine
I was wondering if I would be able to join the Armstrong Name study?
Thanks Norma
